I am thinking about doing these mods to my motor. I have a 98 Cobra with the Texid block. I have a spare 98 Cobra Texid long block with possibly a spun rod bearing, it runs but makes a clanking sound. and a set of 99 cobra tumbleport heads.

I want about 600HP

I'm on a budget so I can do everything all at once. A few thousands at a time.

This is what I am planning to do:
First mod.
At a local mustang shop. Big bore the spare Texid block and put new forged rods/dished pistons. I might have to buy a new stock Cobra crank if mine is ruined.
I will deliver them my bare block and crank, they will get the parts and install everything and give me the short block back for $2300. Sound reasnible?

2nd mod
several months later
Heads/cams
Here I have to decide if I want to use the Tumble port heads I have or just stick withe the stock swirl portd heads. What should I do?
Get a set of the SHM reground factory cams with the Supercharger grind $600
new springs mabe?
At the same local mustang shop have them polish (Not port, just remove some ruff spots) and freshed up the heads, clean and put new valve seals in them $500, They can put them back togeather with the SHM cams and new springs.
The heads mod will cost me about $1200

A year later
Finally, Supercharger
Vortech s-trim somthing, one of the complete kits, no intercooler yet (too expensive) I think I can get the kit for arouns $3500

So my questions
1. Is this a good combo?
2. I have to run the engine for months between mods, am I doing them in good progression?
3. Swirlport or Tumbleport heads for supercharger, I have both already?
4. Will I be able to get 600HP on Preimum gas? or even 600HP altogeather?
5. How long will my Tremic T45 last, maybe for the first and second mods? Yes I will probably have to get the D&D Viper T56, Group purchase :) ???

Any other helpful advise for a first time engine builder?

The block is now dissasembled and it turns out that one of the rod bearings was infact bad. There is a noticable worn spot on the Crankshaft where the rod bearing was. Looks like I need a new crank, any stroker people have one?

If on a budget now put a stock setup back in the car then save up and build the block with the 99 heads and your gonna have to run the 99 intake as well. Look up boss 330 racing and he should be able to get you what you want.
