I am trying to upgrade my wheel & tire package. I have 275 X 40 X 17s on my stock 98 Cobra wheels now, and I would like to go to 285 X 40 X 17s on 10.5 wide Cobra R replica wheels all the way around. The wheel mfgs. say the 10.5 wheels won't work on the front, but it looks like they will. Does anyone have any input on this? I hate to buy the wheels and be wrong. I'm told that I have to use 275 X 40 X 17s on 9" wheels in front & 285 X 40 X 17s on 10.5 wheels in the rear. 315 X 35 X 17s are shorter than 285 X 40 X 17s, or I would use them on the rear. 315s on 10.5s on both ends would be the best, but I'm told that won't work either. Any input would be great.

10.5s will not fit in the front without shee metal modifications. There was an article in MM&FF on a Griggs racing Cobra that ran 10.5 AFS replicas on the front for track duty. WAY too big in my opinion. go with 9s in the front and deep lip 10.5s in the rear.

a local guy hear had his rims rear svt rims widened and he put 315's on rear. they looked very sweet. he was running round the 12 second 1/4 mark with a 03 cobra. lol i handed him a lose at the strip. man was it ever nice to be able to beat such a nice car.
