It's only happening on one side,..but considering that this side has been off already for a defective hub swap, and it was doing it before and after the swap...it's gotta be something w/ this side caliper/pad assy. I bought the premium carbon metallic pads when I put this thing together, so again,....I just don't know.

OK, time to rekindle this because I just tried to fix it and it's still doing the same thing:

Took the caliper off and separated the pads from the caliper. I sanded the face on the pads and sanded the face of the rotors w/ some 80 grit emery cloth in the hopes that they were somehow glazed, and that was the source of the noise.
I test drove the car, and for the first 15 mins or so,...I couldn't hear it. ( I also went very easy on stopping as well). After getting gas, I drove it like I normally do and there it was,..... a harsh, metallic resonating groan, noticeable when I go around a corner hard, and when barely applying the brakes, most of the time coming from the right front. Any pressure harder than light, and that noise goes away.
I looked at the brackets to see if the rotor was flexing and making contact w/ the bkt, but no evidence of that. It has to be the pads vibrating in the bracket when they are loose enough right before a normal stop. (as in not being pressed hard against the rotor)
I have another set of late model two piston calipers, and in design, they appear to be way superior to the SN 95 system, but they are a "core" set at best. Are they interchangeable on the SN 95 spindle? they look like they are.

The most likely thing is that the two spurving bearings are no longer aligned with the panametric fam. This happens when I'm rolling into a cruise night as well....... just barely tapping the brakes, keeping it at a creep,............MMMMMMMOOOOOAAAANNNNNN!!!!

not sure where you got your pads from but, I used to work at autozone part time for a while & they have CMAX ceramic pads. one of the selling point we were supposed to give customers is they were autozones quietest pads because they are ceramic & more importantly, they have a "special" compound on the back of the pads to absorb vibration and quiet the moaning. Kind of an expensive guess though if it doesn't fix anything

Well I spoke w/ my mechanic ( The guy that I work w/ at Carmax) and he is about as good a Ford certified ASE as it gets.
I have autozone rotors (the 55.00 ea.Chinese ones) and the Cmax Carbon Metallic pads. He suggested that I change out the Rotors for a Good set Like the $110.00 ea Raybestos units A/Z sells that the harmonic will disappear.

We'll see. I am exchanging the cheap ones for the better ones tommorrow.

So I go back to AutoZone today W/ my chinee rotors and pads in hand at lunch.

I exchange my old stuff, pick up the new "American made" Raybestos Slotted rotors ($110.00 ea) only to find that I cannot make this a one stop shopping trip. The AutoZoner says the only pads they have is some iteration of the duralast brand. Sorry Jeeves I say, you'll have to give me my money back on the pads because after this last go round,...I ain't buyin' no Duralast pads.

So he does.
Off I go to Oreillys.

Dude there seems knowledgeable enough, and tells me that his information stipulates that Cobras actually came w/ a semi metallic pad,...and that despite the fact that there are ceramic pads at the top of the product line,..he suggests that I replace my old ceramic pads w/ the cheaper, semi metallic as called for by the OEM.
So who am I to argue?
I pay the whopping 35.00 for the set, and come back home to install the stuff.

I get to looking at the box the rotors come in, and to my disgust I discover that even the 110.00 ea. Raybestos rotor have "Made in China" stamped on them. But they were "finished" in the U.S.A.

Whadya gonna do? I put them on.

Now, I'm not gonna tell you how this story turns out, cause I still gotta fix the heater core and I am not gonna put the car back on the ground just yet.
But they look like they are gonna be quiet, so that'll have to do for now.....pig.
