With my knowledge, or lack there of, I'd just drive it like normal, just skip 2nd, until you have to time to pull it and check it out. Others will be more helpful than I.
What do you mean, "blew out"? Does it grind trying to shift into 2nd, does it just not want to go into 2nd, or is there no power transmission in 2nd?
The problem with most trans failures is that they can't be fully diagnosed just by guessing. You have to get dirty and tear it open. I foresee a full rebuild in your future, haha.

Yea, you will definitely have to tear it apart to see whats going on. Not to bad of a transmission to rebuild if you have a little experience.

Could be a couple of different possibilities, a) bent 1st/2nd shift fork, b) broken 2nd gear, either way don't drive it anymore or you will do more damage to the rest of the trans. I've got an extra 2nd gear if you need it, just pay for shipping and its yours, for the best price on rebuild kits call Tony @ Astroperformance, he helped me out when I toasted mine.
tranny is out havent pulled the cover to inspect the internals yet, it shifts into second and nothing happens no grinding its like its in neutral
after tear down second gear was sheared the center portion moved seperate of the outer? Intalled new one put tranny back together and will intall and test drive in the evening.
That must not be 2nd gear you replaced then. There is no inner or outer gear to 2nd. If you shear it...teeth are falling off
I know what you guys are thinking but the replacement was one solid piece Ill take some pics and show you what I mean looks like the gear's teeth were pressed on
