Started with a bad vibration in 2nd then it let go all other gears work. Need to know what might have broken options to repair it. Transmission was rebuilt about a year ago.
With my knowledge, or lack there of, I'd just drive it like normal, just skip 2nd, until you have to time to pull it and check it out. Others will be more helpful than I.
What do you mean, "blew out"? Does it grind trying to shift into 2nd, does it just not want to go into 2nd, or is there no power transmission in 2nd?
The problem with most trans failures is that they can't be fully diagnosed just by guessing. You have to get dirty and tear it open. I foresee a full rebuild in your future, haha.
Could be a couple of different possibilities, a) bent 1st/2nd shift fork, b) broken 2nd gear, either way don't drive it anymore or you will do more damage to the rest of the trans. I've got an extra 2nd gear if you need it, just pay for shipping and its yours, for the best price on rebuild kits call Tony @ Astroperformance, he helped me out when I toasted mine.
after tear down second gear was sheared the center portion moved seperate of the outer? Intalled new one put tranny back together and will intall and test drive in the evening.
I know what you guys are thinking but the replacement was one solid piece Ill take some pics and show you what I mean looks like the gear's teeth were pressed on
