Swapping the head gasket and there's slight pitting on the block. I've cleaned it up a pretty decent amount but I'm not too sure if this will be an issue as far as sealing or not. I went around the surface with a straight edge and .006 & .003 feeler gauge (same tolerance for the heads) it all checks out.

Should this be an issue and if so what are some options? I've heard about JBweld and some copper spray for the gasket but a bit hesitant.

That would not concern me. Put some copper rtv as you stated if you're worried. If it's a high psi and hp blown motor then I might worry more. That looks typical if what I've seen on others that had no issue. Of course decking both is the best insurance overall.
