Yep. He's annoying.

And he kinda looks like my kid brother when we were younger.

I thought it was an addition to stangnet, as when you post, your post always appears above this one, it's always at the end of every page of a thread, to give you related info to the topic. Granted, it has only shown the standard google ad links so far, but that's not to say it won't show previous threads on the same subject later on, when implemented properly.

While trying to figure out what everyone was talking about, I realized that if you switch your view to "The Darkmoon", he isn't there. For now at least.

That is part of the software...we are being inundated with ads on every corner of the page.

personally i'd rather look at alfred or ignore him than lose stangnet because they can't afford the bandwidth this place takes, also the forum is software is a lot more user friendly than other forums like the VMF, which is why i come here first, but i do keep up with vmf on a dialy basis as well, at leats most of the time

Trust me, they'll add the google dude to the dark templates real quick. If they don't they're not too bright.

Why not make this part of the software? Heck, they always drove Ford products and even featured a Mustang or two, plus you get music:

Perhaps I have been a little hasty! Is Alfred E. Newman provided by StangNet or is he spam from some very smart individual (or company)?

If StangNet feels he is necessary to support the forum then perhaps I (we) can deal with that. If it is spam from an outside source then IMHO it needs to be confronted.

Thoughts?

Personally,

Stangnet needs to eliminate everyone that has not posted in 6 months. That should free up some space.

i don't really see the big problem about it, if Stangnet are putting it there. I mean, at least it's not some Flash ad, thats flashy and big letters for some retarded thing like personal ad's. Rather it's just text at the bottom of the thread with links to specific things that were discussed in the thread.
