Bloody 5K over the sticker!

Placed order today

I found 2 dealers in my area (East TN) that took $300 over invoice, no doc fees or add-ons, just tax, title and tags. I took the deal closest to me, paid $500 deposit. I can change color and other options up to December.

PM if you need more info, one dealer told me they only do 5 internet sales a month, Im sure they would welcome more versus loosing a deal. Only drawback is I took a December build which may had alot to do with it. Specs are:

05 GT, Mineral Gray, Dark Charcoal Interior, Interior upgrade, Auto, Shaker 1000, 17" Aluminum wheels.

MSRP $29265, Invoice $26990, Deal $27290

Ford doesn't have anything to do with markups. That is set by the dealers and goes straight into their pockets.

I was in a Canadian Hertz Mustang (2003) Rental: Wow, what a surprise, compared to the same company renting me a Mustang in Vegas, the Canadian Mustang was two steps lower. The US Hertz Rental in Vegas had leather wrapped steering wheel, Mach Premium sound, nice mats, better outfitted trunk, just way better.

Remember, no country is perfect, so even Canada needs improvement.

Where did you get this info...I think you are wrong on some and I KNOW you are wrong on others.

YES you do still get a free tank of gas when you buy a new car. It's up to the dealer's discression and I have always had a free full tank the day I picked up my new car/truck.

Never heard of $100 sticker tax and I know I have never paid it either (FYI I have bought 4 new cars/trucks in the last 3-1/2 years) There is however a $100 tax if you buy a car/truck with AC, so you may be thinking of that. (all of my past 4 new vehicles had AC so I know I paid that.)

Models are NOT degraded for the Canadian market. Rental companies are just cheap and buy bare bones to rent. The car you buy in the US is virtually 98% exactly the same with the exceptions of metric vs imperial and we still don't get XM radio (Damn CRTC )

I live in Alberta and the only sales tax is the federal tax (7%) and stupid tire tax of $25 $5/tire including spare.

Just re-registered a truck today...there is no HUGE registration tax, only 7% of the fee which the whole thing including tax totals only $64 a year.

There is no tax on insurance (at least I don't see that I pay any on my policy and it's law they have to show it if it's collected) Our rates vary from province to province and Alberta WILL have the cheapest insurance in the country. I pay about $1500 a year total on 2 brand new and one 6 year old vehicle all fully insured.

Tax happy...yes I will agree that our goverment rips off the same group of people as the US government...middle class pays the bill for everyone. Gas is taxed the most...47% of the price is tax.

There is no such thing as a perfect country on this planet. Problems everywhere you go so we just have to be proud of our own the best we can. And yes...US does get a lot more car stuff and there is a reason for that, the state California alone sells more cars then ALL of Canada. Power in the numbers and as simple as that, we just don't have the numbers to justify all the extra cool stuff you guys can get without needing to pay a premium .

If the price increase has nothing to do with Ford Motor Company and if it only has to do with the Ford dealers, then the Ford dealers are all "rapists". They can charge what they like, but I will not bow down to them and pay $5,000 over the sticker price for a 2005 Mustang GT. No way.

I will rather wait until I am the one who will "rape" the Ford dealer by purchasing my 2005+ Mustang GT a few hundred bucks over the invoice price when it's time. Only an idiot would pay $5,000 over the invoice for a car like this. I guess that "rape" comes in many different forms. And this form isn't physical. It's monetary. Save your money and wait until the prices drop with the rebates. Don't be a victim of the rapist Ford dealers.
