Hey fellow stangers, I'm getting ready to pool all my parts and send them to the machine shop for my upcoming 331 project (stock block w/main girdle, scat nod crank, 4340 rods, probe dish pistons). I'm about 95% positive I want to run a centrifugal supercharger after great amounts of deliberation of which power adder to run...more specifically a powerdyne due to the self contained oil res.
Now, I'm having some serious issues choosing a cam that will be livable on the street without too much fuss, yet enough to pull up close to the rev limiter. I'll be using edelbrock RPM heads, cobra intake (probably going box upper), full mac exh (long tubes), 3.55's, 70mm tb, 73mm C&L, 24lb inj (prior to blower install). Oh, and did I mention, that with the new engine I'll be converting from carb to FI?
I know when the boost goes to it, I'll need bigger injectors, but I won't be able to buy the huffer just yet, so I figure the smaller injectors should work fine for now. which brings me to the crux of the situation...I'd prefer to not have to swap cams during the blower install, but rather find a cam that will play well with my 9:1 comp ratio, and produce good power with the blower installed. I've looked at a couple like the TFS stage 1 or 2 cams. I don't have unrealistic expectations for this thing, but I think 400-450 to the wheels with about 8-12lbs is fair and realistic with that engine. If I'm off, please don't hesitate to inform me otherwise.
the car will be a daily driver with occasional trips to the strip. I've already got a couple chassis and suspension mods with more to come to handle the upcoming increase of power from 306 to blown 331...any of you guys got any input or suggestions? thanks in advance
