hey guys since i am saving up for the forged motor and i am half way there atm i am thinking of adding a set of camms to the mix since the motor will be apart

i heard that vt na stage 1 camms are good even for a supercharged motor

or should i just be looking at the blower camms

looks like i am going for a forged replacement for my 4.6 but with a lower comp. pistion 8.5cr

comp valve springs for the stock heads

and some kind of camm ???

i pulled the blower off the car once the new motor is in i will put the blower back on with stock pulley and diy fmic

i will then install cobra tank and duel fuel pumps

then i will have the car tuned drop the pulley size and retuned

the goal on the forged motor with fmic and camms is
15psi of boost and 500rwhp if possible on a daily driver

Ok, if you already have the blower, then go STRAIGHT for blower cams. VT stg 1s make great blower cams for lower boost apps, as they only have 5*s of valve overlap.... but they are not as good as dedicated blower cams :) .

Basically how I look at it is this.

Staying N/A for a WHILE, or if your undecided and will stay <10PSI (Get VT stg 1s)

Have plans for >10PSI blower in anycase, just get blower cams now.

SO, in your case, call up VTengines and tell them what you have and let them make some custom blower cams that will fit your needs :nice:

Excuse my ignorance but I'm one of those guys that went with the blower right away and now am trying to learn what else to do to my engine keeping the same 4.6l 2v but building her up for improvements. Right now I have the 9psi pulley on a stock engine but would like to slowly move up. I can go up to 14psi and I'm already intercooled. Not meaning to highjack the thread in any way but point me towards where I can learn about what cam specifically, pistons/rods and valve springs I should get. And what about a P&P on a 71K motor?
