I think it's time you pulled a Jesse and went with a 400+ cube Windsor instead .

Well this is my 4th pair to install in 3 months!
I will never use my spout ever again. I blew the first set on the dyno while getting a tune. I blew the 2nd set test driving it with 20 degrees locked timing before a tune. This last set I locked timing @ 8 degrees and have never heard a ping since. I am on my way to get it tuned today and decided to put back the spout like a lot of peeps were telling me to before my tune. Big mistake! As soon as I left home I could hear a little ping but not as much as before. I see another GT on my rear following extra close at every light so I decide to light them up a bit and then I hear the unmistakable sound of a HG failure with that missing like sound and then huge plumes of white smoke come billowing out of the exhaust pipes like a 3 alarm fire. I am going to push my car off a mountain and buy another one, this is so not good. My first pair was stock and the 2nd pair were the Fel-Pro 8521's and the last were the 9333's.

Should I get some lock wire or more durable gaskets or stay with the 9333's so I don't lose a piston and keep blowing HG's?

what compression are you running? I understand how you feel I almost have the same problem except for it to blow hg mine keep over heating. I have another daily and whenever I feel like messing with the chit I can without worrying about getting it to run good right away. Good luck!

Don't use the O ring head gaskets. If it was my car I'd look into either cometic or ROL gaskets. I don't have any personal experience with either, but I know a lot of the high boost turbo guys swear by them. You really need to tune it before you get on it or this is going to keep happeneing. Blown head gaskets are normally not caused by boost, but rather the tune of things.... and detonation will take them out quicker than anything. Good luck JR, I hope this is the last set you go through until you swap heads.

btw, your heads might not be level, they might have to be decked.

Damn that sucks JR, your tune must be way off for it to keep blowing them like that. Maybe my slipping clutch is a blessing b/c I havent taken it past 4,500 w/ out it slipping. It was tunned on the dyno and I guess its all set now. It still backfires so I assume its still running rich which is good, one of my friends swears that he saw flames come out the back FOOO ****ZLE!!!!. With your set up running 42# injectors w/ 60 PSI of fuel I wouldent think your blowing HG's so it must be the timming. I have my Timming locked w/ the spout out running #30's w/ a 190 Fuel Pump and the fuel PSI set lower then it was before( it was at 60 ).

Try that 3 layered steel gasket. Can't remember the Company but they are like $120. You may want to check the deck on the block.

Cometic...MLS (multi layered steel) had a write-up in 5.0 or something recently...there supposed to be the rats ass for boost...

Yep they are all my fault except the first time on the dyno.
The timing is def. the culprit to all the blown HG's. I had the spout out for all this time with no problems and as soon as I put it back in the detination started. I will def. get it tuned right away as soon as I am done replacing them again.

How many times can I re-use my ARP bolts?
Should I take this op. and put in studs now even though I have stock heads?

.
Know where I can order some other than the Cometic site?
I was told to use them by my shop after the stock ones went on the dyno. I should have listened to them
