Well guys thought I'd make a thread and tell what my project is. First off it was a 94 black gt AODE stock when I got it 3 years ago. Then I put a stock block 347 in it with afr Heads. Just wasnt enough so I decided to go all out with the following

build:
AODE to tremec 3550 swap
331 dart blower motor
vortech cog driven s-trim
Built 31 spline rear with detroit lockerup

I put the motor together over winter, and just started to install the motor yesterday. So far so good. Had to make some mods to my deep sump moroso drag pan to clear the stock k member. Also am runnin into problems with the headers not fitting with the 225cc high port heads I am running. I will be updating this thread as I go and throw in some pics for you guys.

All critiques and consrtuctive criticism welcome and happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for hoping on the thread.

-Jared

What did the 347 combo put down on the dyno/run at the track?

It sounds like a wicked combo, I always love seeing 'verts getting built up.

bro, that is not all out. make it a 427 with a couple turbos ... then it will be all out.

sounds like an awesome setup and i'm sure it will put a big smile on your face when you get all the gremlins worked out.

yep, nothing better than a built up vert.

what all are you putting in it? heads, cam, intake, etc.

having bent an output shaft in my 3550, i would step up to the TKO/TKO600 if i was doing this.

All out for me we'll say lol... Heads are trick flow 225cc high ports, cam is a custom lunati solid roller forget specs off hand .700"s lift, intake is a tfs r-series w/1 in spacer.

As for the 347 it put down 486 if i remember right at 5200 then it let a head gasket go so it was stopped then I never dynoed it again and started this build due to afraid of breaking the stock block... Thanks for the kind words too.

That's why I run a TKO in mine. I bent 2 mainshafts in my T5, and the 3550 shares that shaft with the T5. The TKO uses a larger and more robust unit.

The guy i took it to to install the 26-spline input shaft that i got from promotion so i could run their clutch, bored out the tail opening and put a tko shaft in it. i shouldn't have any problems. knock on wood...

ok now i'm confused. it seems to me you already were "all out". how will this new combo be better? why not just replace the head gasket and get more conservative with the tune?

It was untuned with stock block and smaller heads.. i dont trust putting 500 to a stock block yea some due it but I'd rather do it right. Also that 347 was a high comp motor so it was no good for the blower.

okay that makes more sense. I just wanted to know how you managed to get 486 at the wheels with a N/A 347. Count me amazed and jealous if that was the case

no problem guys and yea id be amazed too haha... Well worked on it for hours yesterday... Having issues with header fitment due to using the highport heads, also my 1 inch intake spacer still isnt enough to clear the fms tall valve covers.

Well sucessfully heated up the headers with a brazing torch cherry red and bent them to fit in there perfectly. Also I stacked a 1" spacer along with a 3/8" spacer for the intake to clear the ford racing tall valve covers. Next is bolting on the supercharger with all the accessories. I fired it up and ran it for 20 seconds sounds good but definetly needs to be tunes once properly all together.

Sorry for not getting back to this thread in awhile... Just got it tuned at Kennedy's Dynotune in Tonawanda N.Y.... It put down 570.8 RWHP and 526.2 RWT. I was very happy with those numbers considering only 42# injectors were used.

Sweet setup. That has to be about the max on 42lb injectors, do you know what the duty cycle on them was?
How fast are you spinning the S-Trim with the cog setup, and how much boost were you seeing?
Is this more or less a street car with some track duty? The reason I ask is that I have always wondered how a cog setup lasts on the street.
