I have an 88 lx with trickflow hci swap with a stock bottom end.car has 82000 original miles with 20 years worth of records really good shape as was the motor when I took the heads off everything was near perfect. here is the dillema, I need more power have 322hp/338tq. I dont know if I should get a new trans or get a stronger/bigger bottom end, leaning towards trans everything is good there just feel that this is the weakest link. let me know what you all think

TKO 600 since you know you will be uprgading the power. A T-56 is a great swap too but is a bit heavier. 50lbs I think

I know from personal experience, that a t56 is at least 30-40 lbs heavier than a t5, man they are heavy when your trying to bench press them up in to a trans tunnel of an f-body lol
but on the positive side they are very strong!!

imo id get a tko...

sure the t56 is heavier but you have 6 gears and pretty strong. but imo, i would get a t5 with gforce internals.
