So.... According to Motor Trend, there will be another Boss 302 in 2007 ( I think), and it'll come with the "all-new" 302 "hurricane" engine. It also says that by 2008, this hurricane motor in a slightly detuned form will be put in the Mustang GT.
Is this the cammer motor? Sounds like a super idea to me. The article says the Boss 302 will make around 425hp. If so, I'd anticipate 380-400hp in the GT. For me, it's about time Ford made a substantial increase in the Mustang GT's power output. There really hasn't been a substantial increase in power like this since the 60's, and largely the power increases for the last decade have been offset by the increasing weight of the Mustang. Now more than ever, the mustang has got to increase power to keep the performance icon. With Toyota Camry making 270hp, an "American Muscle Car" making 300hp is laughable.
To me the big news is about the mustang GT, which gives us a glimmer of hope that the Mustang GT is going to put up similar performance numbers in stock form to the new Camaro, and the new Challenger both of which will make over 400hp stock and will have a lot more displacement, and thus a stronger powerband, than a 400hp 302. The stang will still be cheaper and will already have a better grasp of the market. I agree with the side-bar in Motor Trend that says the mustang is going to make it tough for the new Chevy and Dodge to become popular. I know one thing, the Mustang isn't going anywhere for a long time.

Large Marge rocks! Anyway, back on topic. I think it sucks they are only making (supposedly) 1000 or so Boss Mustangs. Those will be nice collectors though.
