brake light comes on

have a 99 gt , just today after braking on the highway " not all that hard " the brake light came on.... then went off , tried it & again the same thing , checked the master cylnder & its full ???????? any idea's ???? the brakes seem fine I have alot of miles but a year ago I did a full brake job even draining & flushing all the fluid till it was clear as water , never had any problems , thanks in advance ...................................... how full is it? when you apply the brakes the level drops some. could be a bad sensor. was it the ABS light or red brake light?

thanks for the help ,brake fluid it looks full , it was the red brake light , I figure probally pull the front wheels off tomorrow & have a look see , someone said if the pads are low it may be it ?

I would have said check the level, but you said it's okay. Maybe a sensor?

Mos def check out your brake pads, they may be worn down.

the light usually only comes on when the e-brake is on, or if the fluid level is low. unless you have been adding fluid(which you should never do), the pads are fine.
