Brake Problem/Brake Question

Alright, ever since i've had the car the brakes have squeaked under medium pedal pressure, so I have lived with it so far since I hardly drive it. This weekend I ttok it to a cruise in Jeff City and was on and off the brakes alot. When I left I stopped at a gas station just out of town and smelled hot brakes, sure enough my pass front wheel was crazy hot, and could smell it, but just at that wheel. It doesnt pull to that side, and I had a buddy watch as I pumped the brakes. He seen them moving so their not stuck. Just wondering if anyone else has had the problem?

Also below are a few pics of my brake pads, there something yellow on the pads, just wondering if its a break in compound of something? Last but not least, the front pads look like their wearing uneven, and an angle like this /. Just wondering again if thats normal.

On another forum i'm on I was told it was prolly the caliper slides. The tend to stick causing the problems i'm having. Anybody know if this is right?

The more metalic pads the more they squeel. if not already done you can grinde the ends of the pads on a angle. which should help with the squeeling. basically your just taking off the edge on the short sides of the pads where they meet the rotors.

I would take that caliper off and reset the piston make sure it has full movement. second greese the slide up. while on the subject check to see if there is any noticable warpage to that particular rotor. but usually that results in vibration when braking. good luck. hope thats decent advice

you can pick one up a cheap one at your local parts store for a few dollars. I guess they just call it a caliper tool?! .. unless your close by me I have a big set. currection they call it a brake pad spreader... or you could just use a c-clamp and an old pad.

on the rear brakes the piston has to be turned while compressed. just for future info
