Buddy got the baer kit with drilled and vented 13 rotors that also had the zinc coating, new PBR baer twin piston calipers, pads, SS lines for $500-550 new in box from a local perf. shop, so thats not double the cost of the cobra kit.

Did mustangparts.com shutdown? The link no longer works. There is a website called stangparts.com, but they want to charge like 600 for the upgrade. Tell me I'm not screwed!!

You are only a little screwed.

Mustangparts.com is out of business. However, speedconcepts.net sells the front kit for about the same price, but they don't offer rear kits. I'm in the process now of finding someplace that offers a rear Cobra kit for around $400.

So far, I've found several places offering the rear kit for over $600.00. Ouch! Some places like discbrakesrus sell front and rear kits together, but they are over $1,200.00. Again....ouch!

$400 dollars for a set of brakes is a deal. If you don't want to spend that on a SAFETY item for your car, get out of the game. I understand that you "saw this one setup in an auction for cheap" but that was an auction. It was probably a used setup, the rotors warped, the calipers needing rebuilding.

Further, I doubt you understand much about brakes in the first place based off of some of your responses. You say you want something with resistance to fade (why I don't know since it sounds like you're nothing more than a boulevard pimp), yet you want to go with drilled and slotted rotors. Well answer me this: How does removing mass from the braking system reduce fade? Do you even know what fade is? Do you know what causes it?

So the question really is, are you looking for performance or bling? I don't really care which, but if you want the right answers, you need to be completely honest about it. Some people put more into looks than performance and that's fine. That's their perogative. But don't come in with a thread that is written in poser form and give racer reasons. That just pisses everyone off.

BTW, if you really are looking for a performance brake setup, you'll be spending at least three times what you've already said is too expensive.

This thread was from back in July of this year, but was revisited because of a question about mustangparts.com being out of business. It turns out they are out of business, but there are plenty of other places that offer new Cobra front brake kits between $400 and $500. The hard part is finding a rear kit for a similar price. Either way, these prices are very decent.
