Okay, I'm putting 407whp and 417wtq down right now, when I upgrade to a D1 I plan to make close to 500whp and 500wtq

Now my rear end is all stock aside from a 3.55 gear, but I want to rip it apart this winter, what should I upgrade? axles? carrier? or do you guys think the stock axles will put up with that power running 10in slicks? I need replace the clutches atleast as it tend to do one wheel peels right now.

Any suggestions?

Try BB&T Racing for one of there axle packages. I went with the Eaton posi unit with 31 spline Moser axles. They have the whole package with heavy duty wheel studs for $629. 800-416-6199

I got a used 8.8 from one of the mustang forums for $600 with 31 spline axles, '95 discs, 3.73 FMS gears, and auburn posi. Some decent deals out there if you keep your eyes open.

I just did my entire rear just before summer. I went with 31 spline moser axles, FMS 03 cobra 31 spline differential with carbon fiber clutches, FMS 4.30 gears, every bearing, seal and race changed and I finished it off with an LPW girdle and synthetic gear oil. I also replaced the stock main cap bolts with studs for extra support. Labor costed me beer and some BBQ :)

I think the parts came to around $800-$900. Not bad for a fully rebuilt/upgraded rear :)

If your going to do it right, welding the tubes up while your at it
Can I just make like four 1 inch welds spaced out around it? or is that just gonna be wasting my time?

Also what about C clip eliminators? Should I go that route?
