Hey guys, i don't have the money to buy a supercharger right now or anytime soon really. Im going to go slow and do it right and not just stick the SC on my stock block because i want to drive around on 9psi or more daily and be confident that my engine won't blow. So what parts need to be forged/replaced? I was thinking of getting the SHM Rods/Pistons/Rings/and Rod Bearings all for 1450 shipped. What else shouild i replace to allow me to run a 9psi SC and most likely go to a smaller pulley for alittle more boost and still be completely safe?
-Im talkin about engine components, not fuel or exhuast stuff.
THANKS

Just to let ya know, you can run up to 10 psi on your stock block with no problems. The secret is a good tune, to keep all your variables in order.

But isnt that just running on borrowed time? I'd like to get a Vortech and then a good air-air intercooler and run a smaller pulley.

Why not save up for a 6 psi Kenne Bell kit. It should handle fine on a stock block. Expect 340-360 rwhp range depending on boltons and instant max. boost off idle. Can't beat it

Id rather push like 400-425rwhp. The Kenne Bell would be great, id just like to get a smaller pulley and run more safely.

just get the 9 lbs intercooled kit and get a good tune , most people are seeing 410 to 425 rwhp , safe tune is the key to making it last . go for it dude

Well more power to you...id go intercooler if you can afford it. But the 6 psi will not produce as much power and will be more conservative on your powertrain and thats what i thought you were looking for.

What i would do is buy a complete forged rotating assembly, upgrade the clutch, do some air mods like headers and plenum/tb... and then when you decide to get the blower, the motor will be set up for it. then just get a good tune. This way, you can run 9 or 10psi with no worries

I ran 10lbs of non intercooled boost on my cobra for the past 2 1/2 years and never had a problem and its still running on the superchips tune (getting dynoed this spring, dont drive it in the winter) You can pick up a vortech kit for an inexpensive price and run the 8lb pulley like i am and get an anderson racing powerpipe and get 10lbs of boost. Thats what i have an i get 10 lbs of boost. you dont need internals unless your running more than 10-12lbs but an intercooler/aftercooler would definetly help if you wanted to go more than 10. just my $.02
