I am running the stock computer in my 95, TM40, and I know that it is holding me back some. One of the first things to do this year is get it tuned. I have been researching different tuners like the Quarterhorse,Tweecer and PMS. I also need to get a wideband. I am leaning toward the Quarterhorse and an Autometer Cobalt wideband (to match the rest of my gauges). Does anybody have an opinion of the Autometer wideband gauges? Also, does anybody have an opinion of any of the Sniper stuff? Sounds like to me the QH does everything the Tweecer does, but cheaper. The PMS is a little pricey, but I'm keeping my eyes open for a good deal on one. How much are you looking for yours, Shouda50?

Hello

Been a while since I got involved in a thread such as this one

I got involved in self tuning just after it got its start up so I
have seen a thing or two since that time

I went with a Tweecer as it was cutting edge at the time

I have looked at several other methods as they have come and gone

As I have seen it ... It kinda boils down to this

The more easy or user friendly the method .......
the less control you have to fine tune or maybe you could say ......

Your ability to finesse different parameters within the tune are not
at your disposal

On the other hand .............

Methods that give you access to most parameters will require more
use of that gray matter between your ears

I would tell you some will try and make you think you won't need to
learn much to tune your Stang

You W I L L have to invest S O M E time to at least learn the basics of
what will happen if you + or - fuel/spark :Word:

None of the methods are perfect

I do lean toward methods such as Tweecer/Q Horse simply
because they give you access to most parameters you need
to tune beyond WOT with datalogging being at the top of
the must have list

and

Being able to tune in that area (closed loop) is what seperates
the men from the boys

Last thing I would tell you is not to listen to the the suductive siren
call of a A9L pcm

Where you say the combo is gonna go with the blower and all ........

You're gonna have to tune it anyway :Word:
so
Just tune what you now got

Just a random thought or two from a hick in Texas who found a laptop
