Some of you may remember i made a cold air kit out of alum and welded it up. it was a while back. i finally got around to making my own valve covers., made the rail, cut and formed the shells, tig welded them 100% inside and out. built them from scratch. they turned out real nice.

heres some pics, let me know what you think.
i put a breather stack where the oil fill neck would be, since i added my blower i am blowing my dipstick out and such, i am disabling the PCV and running open breathers, i will get a moroso clamp on filter/breather to put on the stack, to vent the crank case.

in the near future i plan to build a custom upper plenum for my car, gona start some research on plenum volumes and find what size i will need!

this week i am hoping to pull the upper off, installing these new covers, put on some 42 lb injectors i got last night, and add an inch bigger crank pulley for the blower to make more power!

later.

wow those are really trick. the weld looks very even and straight, i like the raw look. you should take the time and polish them to a high shine, that would look badass with the weld bead.

wow...those things look nice. and i especially like those welds. did you do them yourself? they look pretty damn professional to me. i can tig weld steel but aluminum is a little more tricky.

ps. if you ever want to make big bucks tig welding (especially aluminum) move down to mooresville nc and go take a welding test at fluidyne radiators or at a nascar race shop. you will get paid top dollar if you can weld like the ones in the picture

Good welds? I thought he needed to learn how to weld  just playing. Looks good man, i agree with the other guy. Polish them up. What does something like that run? Not that i'm interested in purchasing a set, but just for comparison sakes.

I've always liked the sheet metal valve covers. Did you seal them with anything or are they raw aluminum? They'll probably be a bitch to keep clean if they're raw, especially the one under the intake.

my boss taught me how to weld, he owns the shop and my dad has known him for years and i was looking for a good job and he hired me. i learned to weld there, i learned to weld tigging alum, i then took a welding program at a tech school shortly after and got practice on wire welding and stick. i picked it up real easy since i learned on tig lol.

and i havent sealed it or anything. when i put them on the car they will probably look bad after a while, thats why i took pics before i put them on.

i made an intake tube and it didnt really look bad at all after running it for over 6 months.
