Busted my T5, manual transmission advice is needed and greatly appreciated!!!

So far its shifting fine. I probably only have about 1k miles on it so I am not running it hard yet. The stock shifter isn't that good but it works. Just be sure to break it in nicely.

since you are desiring a street/strip car a g force would work better for you than a proshifted 600 trans..... you want a trans with syncros so it is actually streetable!

This pro shifted 600 your talking about is it a kit? Do they offer it for the 3550's? Whats so good about it? Can you shift faster and better? Is it NOT to street worty? why not if it isnt? peace

There is a difference between the TKO and the TKO500/600 Is yours a TKO or a 500/600?

if im remembering right, when i was shopping for transmissions 4 years ago and was looking at the tremecs, there were two to choose from. one was the 3550 and one was the TKO. i spent the extra money and got the better one (higher torque rating and also higher cost). its a 26 spline GM style input shaft, and i bought the conversion yoke for the driveshaft too. i ordered a heavy clutch plate for a mustang, and a disc for a corvette.

i thought pro-shifting a transmission was just cutting/grinding off every other gear on the synchronizers to make the upshifting quicker at higher rpm's. i had an A-833 dodge 4 speed with that done to it. it was still fine on the street.
