I was wondering if there is an alternative to the rod setup for a V8. I have to drill a hole for the new accelerator rod as the holes from the I6 won't line up right and I was wondering if there was a cable or something that attached to the gas pedal?

Not sure what you mean about having to drill a new hole. When I converted from I6 to V8, all that was required was swap of pedal rod and throttle rod.

To answer your question though, at the Autorama last year, Ford Racing had a '65 fastback with an EFI 5.0. They used a '69 pedal rod with a FOX type cable. I was going to use that on my own car until I found a '65 V8 pedal rod at the junkyard.

Steel,

Oh, that hole. Yes, I had to drill another hole (3/16" or so), but there is already a drill dimple formed into the dash panel.

In reading your original post, I thought you meant a new hole for the pedal rod to pass through the dash.

I can take a picture. It will look like any other V8 car though.
