I just installed a C & L intake, with a SCT tune from Brenspeed, and just took it for a ride. I have to say, that I thought that all of you guys were exagerating about what a difference it made, now I must humbly say, WOW you weren't freaking kidding!!!!! I thought it was immpossible for a bolt on to feel so strong. Of course I realize that the tune has a lot to do with it too. I went right with the 93 octane tune, why screw around.

How hard is it to NOT spin the tires at will now????? So now you are another firm believer of the CAI/tuner mod. Now how about a steeper rear gear? I couldn't believe the difference it made in the way my automatic performed!!!!! Enjoy and have fun:nice:

I still find my auto tends to NOT down shift when I go WoT and am already rolling around 25mph. It hangs out in 3rd gear bogging the S/C and thus killing my get away fast pull.

From a stand still it rockets off though.

I'm already going with 3:73s being installed April 11. I know the 4:10 arguement, but I do a lot of highway, it'll still be a huge jump up from 3:31. As for spinning the tires, what really caught me off guard, I took off just medium speed and revved and sidestepped the clutch but didn't just catch second, I went sideways!!! God what a difference. The only thing I ever felt was close was in the old days going from a Holley single pump carb, with vaccuum secondarys, to a double pumper with mechanical secondarys. But no where near dramatic. I've had this car 3 months now, and I had it tamed, now I gotta learn how to drive it all over again. We have to be a team to go to the track.!!!

Being the automatic, unless I big time baby it, I still have a difficult time starting off without either chirping the tires or throwing my passenger's head back against the headrest.:D

Have you had that looked into? I know mine doesn't kick down as often after the tune and power increase, but it will always kick down at WOT.

If you stay at the posted speed limits the MPG difference betwen 3.73 and 4.10 are not that different at most is 1MPG.

get 4.10's seriously. 3.73 is not enough gear. trust me. just get 4.10's. 3.73 from 3.31 is not a huge jump. its barely noticeable.

i can still get 24mpg on the highway with 4.10. thats 1 less than stock for me. who cares really? do you buy a mustang for decent gas mileage? i hope not, you should have bought a honda if so.

besides that, youll get better MPG with the intake you just installed. so it offsets any issue.

most of my driving is highway as well. i debated the 3.73 vs. 410 for 2 months and just got the balls and got 4.10. i will never go back, ever. There are thousands of people that will agree with me.

alloy your pissing me off....fine 4.10's it is....****!!!! lol :nice:

i will get them installed just for you, just because your so intense when it comes to the 4.10 vs 3.73's topic!!! its like rockstar vs redbull....rockstar all day!!!!

you win ALLOY!!!!

no lectures on going with 4:10's guys please. I've had cars with 4:10s, 4:88s and 4:56's, you name it. 3:73s are the best fit for me at this time!! To each his or her own I say. besides, they don't cost so much that you can't change them!!!
