cam help

i ask this question a few times but never get a response so ill try again. I have a stock block with a b303 cam, gt-40p heads, 1.7 rockers, and a trickflow street heat intake. mac longtubes, o/r x, and slp catback.

is it worth it to retard my cam 4 degrees? i heard the b303 cam is built in 5 degrees advance and retarding it will not only build more power but will run better all around. any truth to this?

a shop i am close to ran the same combo just about and picked up 2mph with the cam retarded and they say its a must

you will gain on top end power, but loose alittle bit on the top end.

hey do you have any after market valve springs on the p heads? Yes you will loose some low end power, mine was at 14 I believe and it would pull to 6.5k all day long.
