cam question and top dead center

i installed a comp cam xe270hr-12 over the weekend. i installed it straight up. if the cam is automaticly advanced 6 degrees. when i put my distributor back in will 0 on my balancer be top dead center or 6

0 will still be tdc (Assuming that the balancer is right). The cam being ground with 6 degrees built in it has nothing to do with where the piston is at tdc. Hope this helps

agreed. the cam grind is for the valve and piston relationship, not spark timing.
