justa question for the experts, i read on another forum that somebody did a 2v cam swap and only removed the valve covers and had a special tool to hold the chains? i was under the impression that this swap was a pretty big job including tearing off all the front of the motor and removing the chains and every thing. this may be my next mod if that is the case. anyone with any knowledge please chime in, i would really appreciate it.

Yes you are right. There is a new tool out by Anderson Ford Motorsports that allows you to change a cam without removing the front cover or the timing chains. There is a little more to it though. This tool has to be used in conjuction with your personal cam choice and it can only be used with cams that have bolt on cam sprokets found on 4.6 Romeo engines. If you have a Windsor engine it has press on cam sprokets and you have to remove the timing chains to get them out. Additionally, to make this a simple swap, you need to choose a cam that has a gross lift of .550 or less with PI heads. If you go more than .550 of gross lift, you will need to change the valve springs as well. Here's a thread from another Forum explaining the process.

yes you can do it that way, Im not sure how many have pulled this off, but i heard its almost as easy just to go ahead and take the timing chain cover off......

its gotta be alot easier than taking all that crap off. now i gotta figure if my car is a bolt on or press on cam gear. i thought i remember some one saying all 02 gts are bolt on but i, not sure any one know for sure
