im in the process of installing PI heads, comp or hitech cams and new intake manifold on a 97 GT. i have heard that you need to degree the cams to fit into the PI heads. is this true? o and is there really that much of a difference between the ford PI intake manifold and a trick flow? appreciate any advice given

I've seen it go both ways with these installs. I installed Comp 262's in my car with no issues and a friend did 270's with zero problems. My feeling is if you go with a less aggressive cam then you will be OK. Just from what I have read the issues seem to be with the more aggressive cams and in the later model cars. I haven't heard any issues with piston to valve contact in earlier models. Since you are installing heads too you may as well degree them to be on the safe side.
