Cams

Just a quick question for anyone willing to answer. Now that i at least have an idea about the posi kit, who has some good ideas for a cam. The only mods on the car are headman ceramic coated long tube headers and an x-pipe with dynomax mufflers. the intake is a chrome weiand intake, that the previous owner had put on, other then that the engine is a stock 351 windsor. so if anyone has any good ideas about what size/ brand cam I should look into that would be great.

Keep in mind, a high lift cam would require screw-in studs and different valve springs so if you go kinda conservative, you may avoid that chore. Maybe an XE258-262?

How do you like those headers? Do they fit nice?

yea those headers gave me a lot of torque and the car feels quicker, but i sacrificed left hand turns slightly. also they were a pain in the ass to get in, and to top it all of when i ordered them from summit, summit sent me the wrong headers so my guy spent 3 days trying to get them to fit and it coast me an extra 500 bucks, and summit gave me a $50 gift certificate for the screw up. so it was a big mess, oh and now my car just randomly shuts off. i think there is a loose wire on the started though. we will have to see

Any idea what your rear end gears are? The idea is to keep the engine in its power band, so it will matter. If you have 3.00's or so, then the Edelbrock Performer grind is great. Lift and duration is higher but not so much that you have to change valve springs, etc. Summit has the same grind for a lot cheaper. I use one in my 302 and have over 150,000 miles on it and their house brand lifters. They told me it was sourced from Crane. Was it? It don't know. I just know that it works.
