I got a deal on a O/R H pipe and MIL eliminators. At 100 dollars, I couldn't turn the offer down. I just got it home, and noticed everything is in perfect condition, except theres a dent. It's not crimped down or anything, but it's a dent none the less, Should I fix it or just screw it?
The pictures really exagerate the dent

That small dent is not going to impact anything. Use it.

Get a new clamp for that H-joint, however.

That is a MAC H pipe.

The exhaust clamp isn't that bad, I washed it, and dried it with the sock you see next to it, and theres lint on it, LoL

quick questions..
My H pipe doesn't have the 2 hooks, for example, look at this picture
http://jdsperformance.com/images/maclthp.jpg

See the 2 hooks, one on each side of the pipe?

Second question.. I've seen pictures where the pipe comes with a new bolt and stud.

Am I supposed to go somewhere and order some new studs and nuts for the new H pipe?

The rubber hangers on mine disintegrated a long time ago. That is what those hooks are for. You can use some backyard engineering and wire it up but I've found it doesn't hurt anything. You can reuse the old bolts and stud but replacements can be found at Napa. Do yourself a favor and invest in some PBBlaster. Spray the hell out of the nuts (the old h-pipe, not yours) and it will be much easier to remove.

How come this H pipe didn't come with the hooks? Is it possible i got one for the wrong car? The guy i bought it from told me he got it off a 03, and i figured that 99-04 share the same H pipe.

Also, why would i need new studs? I won't have to take the old ones out, right? They (the old studd) will stay on the Header, all I remove is the nut, to free the old H pipe, right? The clamps on the side of the H pipe that go to the Header aren't even threaded.

I've already sprayed the crap out the bolts with PB blaster. I outta buy a stock in that thing.

New studs only if you can't get it to seal or you break one. Otherwise just reuse the old ones.

Ah, great.
I should have tools available to me this saturday hopefully. Apparently, Early MAC H pipes like the one I have are extremley prone to leaking. Hopefully all goes well.

Make sure you get a new gasket. Ford has them for about 15 bucks if I remember. If you get a leak just use some high temp RTV and seal it. Pain in the ass if you have to remove it for any reason but it will stop the leak.

You may need a NAPA stud kit for the left side. Either that, or the sleeve that Mac ships with new pipes.
