Can I use a dented H pipe?

Not sure about the sleeve but I know the stock bolts have a shoulder on them keeping you from tightneing up. New studs are threaded all the way to the hilt so you can get a seal.
Alright, i got a price on new studs, and they're about 10 dollars.
The thing is i dont have a dollar to my name right now LOL.
I've done some research, and even with out the new stud, the leak isn't suppose to be THAT bad. Mine is huge. I'm thinking i botched the install but i don't know how.

on my ex's i had she had the same problem. i just removed the studs from the flange on the drivers side exhaust manifold then just replaced them with studs that were threaded all the way. didnt cost me all that much if i remember, just make sure to use grade 8 stuff if you do that.

Yep, that is why you have a leak.
On the Mac midpipes, Mac ships them with a metal sleeve that you insert between the header and midpipe which eliminates the leak. The stud kit also helps with this. I did not do a stud kit personally. I just used the sleeve.

OK I have a problem. I fixed the exhaust leak but I am not happy with the way the car sounds. Soundwise..it sounds better, a whole lot better, but now it's not loud enough. With the leak, it was perfect, could of been just a tad louder, but perfect non the less. Now with the leak fixed i am very angry. It is wayyyy to quiet for me. This is an o/r H with MAC catback. What on earth can i do to make it louder? I REFUSE to go with SLPs, and i'm just not aware of any other way to make it louder.

It doesn't get much louder than Macs when it comes to chambered muffs. A straight through design may be better for you if you need more volume. I see Magnapacks in your future.

its quiet with mac mufflers
mine have a nice rumble at idle, but scream 2500 to red line, you can hear it from a half mile awayReally? Are MAC the loudest? I love MAC products and their customer service is top notch, I'll always be one of their customers. I want a Chambered muffler so MagnaPaks probably won't be a set up i'll consider.
There really arent that many chambered mufflers on the market.
Hooker AeroChambers sound nice but i haven't heard them with an o/r H

If I didn't have my Flows, I would have Hookers or Macs.

Also, this could just be me, my friends say they don't know what i'm talking about but they've only heard the car from the outside.. When i start off in first gear, floor it till redline, and go in second, as the RPMs start climbing, it sounds like a fart can almost. kinda like 'brrabrrabrrra" really fast. Also, if i'm on the side of the road, like towards the wall on the freeway, it makes this sound the whole time. This is the reason i'm considering going with another chambered muffler

i have flowmaster 10 series single chamber mufflers....they are loud. really loud.
keep in mind i was using a digital camera to record this and it is much deeper in person, but i have an x pipe. so it will sound deeper on your H pipe. plus the rev down crackels less in person as well.
