Can TB be taken apart?

So I've had a couple posts about getting a new tb for the stang and putting the old one on the t-bird. I found out they won't fit exactly, not cause of the actual tb, but the hookups for the cables (not iac or tps...opposite side). So it would be easy to just take the one from the t-bird and transfer it on to the mustang tb, but I'm now sure if it's supposed to come apart. Can you screw off the piece where the tps attaches or will I end up breaking it? Just trying to save myself a problem. Thanks.

Okay....could use a bit more than that though. I'm sure I could get it apart, but could I get it back together again? Do you just turn it counterclockwise, or would it be clockwise, cause counterclockwise opens up the throttle? Know what I mean?

No, apparently you can't take it apart, at least not in any kind of common sense way that I know of. Broke the plastic piece that fits on to the tps and now my gas pedal doesn't work in the bird.... Just some advice, don't ever try this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

Sure...was gonna put the tb from the mustang on the thunderbird (actually made it work btw) but the part where the cables hook up doesn't match exactly, so I was gonna take the part from the t-bird and put it on the one from the mustang. Sounds sorta wierd, but it was a good idea I thought....or not. Anyway, that's why.
