DAYTONA BEACH
I must have the worst luck. I desided to go with a auto tranny and my father talked me into a chevy 350. He owns a restoration shop and had a new built turbo 350 for racing. After much debate I desided yes its a chevy but its free and a auto with a transbrake. I'm a ford man but a deal is a deal. With that said, I had to change a few things including the driveshaft. I have spent lots of money coverting everything. What a nightmare...So the car has been sitting on jack stands for 3 months. I ordered a 671 blower and hoped to put it on my car, well the blower got here a few days ago and my car is still broke. Here is the finaly straw....I ordered a new flywheel from J&W trans and I told them it was a ho 302 motor from a 87, they gave me a 20 oz flywheel not the 50 some oz i needed. So I finaly got the tranny in, changed the plugs and oil started the car. The car drove smooth until i got to 3000 rpm's and it started a hugh vibration. Finaly after pulling out all of my hair I reliezed they gave me the wrong weighted flywheel. So now I have to take everything apart pull the flywheel out and drive 3 hours to J&W to switch it out....Why can't people take a little time whern dealing with customers, to make sure they give them the correct part..WHY...I just needed to vent, I have never been so mad and frustraded with a car. Oh, I didn't mention, i work 80 hours a week and don't have time to correct other peoples mistakes...

Sorry dude, that sucks. You know what your first mistake was, right? As listed in you post, it all began when you decided to go with the slushbox... and a Chevy at that. Sure, I have daydreams about putting an EFI 454 out of a totalled Z71 pickup in my GT, but God, I'd never do it!

Well, I was told it would cost me around 2,000 for a built c4 0r c6, so when I got a built 350 for free I jumped at it. I was trying to save money, which I did but I lost my mind in the process. And I haven't drived my car in months......

Funny thing happens sometimes when we try to save money, you notice? I guess I maybe have unusually bad luck too, but I've observed that every time I try to save money, it takes longer and ends up costing more somehow. :bang:

My luck continued, I called out of work sick(explosive diarea) and took out the flywheel in record time, just when i feel time and luck is on my side....there is a hugh car crash and the highway is shut down for several hours, so needless to say i sat on the highway for hours. I finally got there and they sold the last 50oz flywheel I needed. So I have to order a new one and yes, WAIT for it to come in the mail....Just when you think your having a bad day, read this post.
