Hello, I was just wondering what the specs are on my Premium Cass. Stareo in my 93 lx vert. is. It has 6 speakers ( 2 dash, 2 doors, 2 rear pass. sides. Are the front 4 components or do I have a 6 channel amp down there? If I put in a new radio and amp what would I do to run 6 speakers? Thanks :SNSign:

After over 11 years of having my factory premium sound cassette, I finally upgraded. I went with 3 1/2 JL replacements for the dash, 6 1/2 Pioneer special application speakers in the doors due to depth constraints, and JL's in the 2 rear speakers. www.crutchfield.com says you have 5 x 7 in the rear. As far as the 6 speaker part. The shop was able to bypass the factory amp without an adapter and all 6 speakers play. Don't know the particulars, but nothing majorly special to get them all to work with aftermarket hu.

Just replacing the paper speakers with higher quality is a vast improvement.

Hope someone else can chime in with some more info, but the only thing is with the factory amp, sometimes they can bypass it with or without the extra harness.

Hey, thanks for the info. So your running your 6 speakers without and amp, just off the head?

Yes, the factory amp is not doing anything now, running all 6 speakers off of my JVC KD-AR3000. I also have two 10" subs, but they are running off of a separate amp.

Nice, I bet those subs would take out my glass window when the top was down. But it would sound great. As long as it wasn't raining.
