Ihad a 95 cobra picked out with 53000 miles for 10750 and is in great condition but than i found this 97 cobra with 37800 mile for 12500. The 97 also has 373 gears, mac exaust system, and a short throw shifter. Are these good deals? Does anyone have any reasons why i should go for the 5.0?

Those prices are on the high side for Cobras.. For the 95 I wouldnt pay more than 8k regardless of the mileage, the 98 I wouldnt pay more than 11.. I would personally go with the 4.6.. Those motors have so much more potential than the 5.0 cobra.. With some simple bolt ons you over 300 rwhp easy, the 5.0 Cobra would need heads and an intake manifold and a cam, and the list goes on.. Plus IMO the 4.6 is much more reliable and has better street manners than the 5.0, and in this day in age, gets better gas mileage.. My Cobra gets 21 mpg consistantly around town and 27-28 on the highway.. In the end though, its your decision and not what people tell you to get..

Having owned a 98 Cobra, I would say get the 97. You get a much better starting point at 305hp and 300ftlb of torque.

This choice is totally up to you. However, I am another vote for the 97.. I looked at a 95 cobra a few weeks ago. It was nice, but I think the newer ones are better cars.

I've never owned one but I think I'd have to go with DeVeus on this. If this is a 4V Cobra, I'd be all over that bad boy. My reasons are blatently ovbious though. They make an intercooled KB for that car. LOL

So is 12,500 to much for the 97? I looked up the nada list price and the high retail is 13,150. I thought this was a better deal compared to alot of other cobras i priced especially with that low of miles. Should i keep looking?

If the car is clean and straight, I'd pay 10,000 or 11,000. But I don't know as much about the newer ones to be of much help

Check out www.svtperformance.com in the classifieds section.. They are nothing but SVT guys and wont jack a price to move a car, they are all listed at a reasonably fair price..

Yes, but sometimes "Z" is the only correct answer. In this case, he is right

I vote for the 5.0; cheaper to mod. Also, if your state has the stupid emission inspections, the 97 would have to have that emissions testing, which could hurt you if you're wanting to do off road exhaust. The 95 wouldn't require that, since it doesn't have the obd stuff.

On a side note, we have a 94 Cobra with cloth interior, and 35k miles. Right now, I would not let it go for any less than what the one guy is wanting out of his 95.
