Car randomly dieng out then not starting

Yeah I read that, the only thing is I am still not certain what i need to replace and once i put in parts i cant take them back.

I was thinking its the PIP but is there any way for me to test this?
My car will start up until it gets warm or dies randomly but I can not afford to be stuck on some road and have to wait hours for it to start back up again. Is there a way to see if it is the TFI or the PIP even if it starts?

when mine was going out, i carried a can of contact cleaner with me (also could use wd-40, and whenever it did this to me, i would open up the dizzy and spray some of that contact cleaner on it, to cool it down and it would start right up the next try.
um a way to test it, i know there is a way of testing it with the connector/wires that comes out of the dizzy, but i dont have my repair manual here, and i forget how to do it...maybe someone else knows?

You didn't mention it in the earlier post, so I'll mention it now. You need to check for computer trouble codes.

The Haynes manual has a procedure to check the PIP and the TFI. However, since your problems are temperature related, you may or may not be able to dupilicate them when you start checking voltages/ohms etc.

Your symptoms sound like a classic bad PIP sensor/TFI module. I think you're going to have to change at least one of them to fix the problem. The PIP sensor (Stator) is the cheaper of the two, ($46 Cdn from Ford), but its a bit more involved to change. Give yourself a couple hours, change it out and see if that fixes your problem.(I think it will definitely help).

If you are still have the stalling problem after you change the PIP sensor, and have checked absolutely everything else that you can think of, I would then change the TFI module (very easy to change, but the part is much more expensive.)
