i have a 347 12.1 comp with a holley systemax intake 30 pound injectors and a solid lift cam and a factory a9l computer and the car drives dam near perfect on a 175 shot of nos if you are going to go with a 408 with some spray through some afr 205s and about 11.1 or 12.1 comp and a solid cam and a nice victor jr some suspenion and you have a sick combo.... at the end of the day it all comes down to what your long term goal with the car is.

Carb will save you a ton of money, EFI stuff is expensive, and Blow through setups are becoming more commone all the time and you can run that D-1 with a blow thru on the street with little issue. No tuning, expensive intake manifolds, injectors, fuel system... you get the drift.

If i could go back, i would go with a single plane, and a carb. simple and effective

ditto
my next major engine work whether its in a fox or not. is carb. simple and effective.!
i did a efi top end setup cause all my stuff is oem ford etc. but if i were to do it all over again i wouldve just got a lower and a carb. old school doesnt mean it aint fast

but efi has the its pluses as well.....so idk. all i know if i wanted a simple build i would go carb

You will have the most sucess with the system you are most familar with.

Carbs are great for the track and make good power. For a strip only N/A car, they are hard to beat. Step on the pedal and flush - it's a gasoline toilet!

EFI RULES on the street for a car that is driven in all kinds of weather, up and down mountains and gets great gas mileage. EFI will make just as much power as a carb and be easier to drive on the street. If isn't hard to tune if you know what you are doing.

That's the truest statement ever posted in these carb vs. efi debates. If you don't know about carbs and you're not willing to learn, you can forget it. The only other debate is about price and after that the only thing that sticks out in my mind is less wiring and sensors and junk to go bad but that's more my opinion than anything.
