hey guys,
im 15 years old and i have a 1970 straight 6 200ci motor. heres the problem. but right now, i have a carter 1v carburetor. im not too sure if it came on stock since im the third owner. i want to get a 2v carburetor but dont know what kind and where to get it. can anyone help me?

thanks

Hey, well first off welcome to Stangnet. And now with ur carb, to awnser ur first question no ur car did not come with a carter 1 barrel carb stock. They only came with an autolite like the GT's. I also have a carter carb, but its a 4 barrel. if you want a fuel economic 2v then go with a good 600cfm carb. I think carter has a good balance of power/fuel consumtion. Holly's 4150 street carbs are also good for using less fuel. But for your six cylinger Im not sure what to do. check out fordsix.com

1: the carter was not stock, but is the best carb you can use in a bolt in situation.

2: you can use an autolite or holley 2bbl carb, but you need to use an adaptor, or modify the head as the intake is cast as par tof the head and IS NOT removable, well unless you mill it off, and the you need to create a custom intake.

check out the tech section of www.fordsix.com and for aftermarket parts, and more tech check out www.fordsixparts.com

With that head you can run most any 2bbl you want to but if I were to spend $800 for the head and I didn't want to do the contraversial V8swap the I would look at swaping in a 250 and tweaking it up. Not much point in upgrading the head on a tired 200.
