Ok so I called LMR just to see what they said and the guy I got asked what year I had and I said 91. He replied oh well your car already had a mini starter so not sure what the problem is.... oh ok thanks. Anyways so I posted how I have everything mounted on my fender solenoid, which is how LMRs vid says to connect it and I believe I have it all connected to the actual starter right but there is a pic of that to. I also watched another vid and the guy had everything opposite so everything on the post closest to the battery, then the single cable to the post near the coil side. I didn’t try that route, but I gave the car another crank thinking ehh maybe it will just randomly be ok now.. yeah nope doing the same thing. So I got under and unbolted it. Now idk what I’m looking for, I heard in a discussion that some people got some that said made for automatic and others for 5 spd. Not sure if that is true and if that matters? Anyways pulled out the starter and took some pics. Can see some areas that look like it got roughed up or where it was grinding against the fly wheel I guess. Let me know what you guys think please so I can this fixed. Thanks!

It's hard to tell about the flywheel, if any of the teeth are rounded off I'd have to consider changing it, you could take that starter to a parts store and compare it, I got my starter from O'Reilly, around a hunnert dollar and a lifetime guarantee

I was gonna test it via the jumper cables and screw driver method just to check if it’s functioning properly. That’s what I paid for this one, and I thought the guy at lmr said the same about warranty but maybe not, maybe I’ll just unhook it and take to advance or something

Ok so I dropped and gave it a test and it seems to be functioning ok. So I checked the TYC P/N and everywhere it pulled up doesn’t show compatibility with my 91. I even checked a 93 and it still said will not work. I have seen it pulling as a part for f150 and on another sight the mustangs compatible were not mine. Maybe I’m looking to far into this but once again I know you all know more than I do so I’m looking for help.

Went to Advance and they had two starters for a 93, they seemed just slightly shorter than the sve one I have. Also the housing where the gear is seemed a little different and cut where it looks like mine is getting grinded on. Spoke with LMR and they said I could exchange under warranty for a new one, or I could upgrade and pay the difference for the PA performance. Idk what to do

Alright well brake job is basically done. Need to adjust the prop valve once I drop the car down. So unfortunately I’m stuck with the mini starter not working. Talked with LMR again today, and they wanted to see the pics I had to determine if mine was defective, so sent them the comparisons I had. After sending in pics I got a call from LMR shortly after and they agreed this is definitely defective and is probably why I am having the grinding issue on start up. They said they have a new manufacturer now and this was a product of the old and it was clearly an issue. So they are emailing me a prepaid return label so I can return mine I have and are sending me a new starter out tomorrow, and I’ll have it by Friday. Gotta say that’s pretty awesome and hopefully no issues with this new one. Just glad i don’t have to wait to send it in and they get it, then wait for them to send it back to me. Then I can finally get this baby off the stands and see how the tires fit!! From this view it’s lookin good. Then time to get that stock intake out of there!!!

I agree with you on the lmr customer service, I ordered a part once and when it didn't fit I called them and after they figured out I ordered the wrong one they not only sent me the right one for free I got to keep the wrong part!

Car looks great! At least you don't have to wait too long for the new starter to arrive. LMR has great customer service which is why I'm always happy to do business with them (and Summit!). What intake are you about to install?
Thanks man, agreed they did me right so I don’t mind sending in more of my money lol. Which I’m about to order a new radiator, overflow tank, hoses, and some new mats for the interior. I have a black powder coated gt40 with the lower worked over by tmoss portend for trick flow llR 190s. Motor is my next task now that suspension and brakes have been upgraded. Once I take the car for alignment, I’ll have my MM full length sub frames installed that are sitting in the garage waiting. I’ll be using these, debating on whether I need the 1in spacer or if I’m good with the 3/8 spacer for the tall valve covers, plus I’m afraid to make the whole for the oil filler.

So this is what’s on the list to be ordered today. How many of you all are running these new silicone hoses vs just buying some rubber from the parts store? Is there any benefit in spending 80 bucks for radiator hoses or should I just save that 80 and throw it towards this fan? This is the one to get right? What else do I need to run this fan?

I had that overflow on my car and went back to the stock one. It doesn't hold very much fluid in it just FYI
I guess it does seem like it’s small. I like that it tucks out of the way, plus not sure how I’d mount the stock one on the new radiator and the fan? It won’t be a daily driver so do you think it would make a big difference?

I used to work for Cardone Industries (16 years as a Sales Rep), the starters and alternators you buy at Advance may not say Cardone but they are made by them. The units are manufactured in China. Cardone makes parts for most companies and just rebrands them. Example, before I left we were making CV axles for Ford. Only difference was they were packaged in a Ford box. Not sure if they do now, just stating an example.

That GT40 intake looks sick.

My overflow tank is a Vitamin water bottle with a hole drilled in the cap. Don't overthink it. What controller are you going to use with the Contour fans? I have the SVE radiator and the same Contour fans, they work great!

That’s what I was wondering in regards to the controller, which works best? Honestly idk how to wire and that stuff scares me. Saw a kit on lmr but I’m open to suggestions for the fan controller.
