Ok for the last month or so my car has been giving me starting issues. It'll go a week of starting right up and then will give me problems again. Today I ran a whole bunch of tests on the car. My dad and I found a VERY weak spark and it was very sporadic. My dad has a 94 GT too so we switched over his coil and ignition module, neither did anything.

We probed the ignition module and coil, both of which have power. On a whim I pulled the spout out and checked the spark and it was fixed. We tried starting it up and it fired right up.

Does anyone have a clue what it could be? Thanks in advance!!!

Pull codes. If you see a SPOUT circuit grounded code, that could do it. If you bench tested the coil for spark with a plug sitting outside the engine, you can rest assured that with compression and fuel, that spark is probably being snuffed out.

IIRC, if you put a meter on the SPOUT circuit (pink wire) you should see 1/2 to 2/3 battery voltage with the SPOUT connector installed and the engine idling.

FWIW, if you find that you have *no* spark with the SPOUT connector in and it runs ok SPOUT out, that indicates a bad computer. This is not your case, but something to remember.

Good luck.
