catted x-pipe install

Is it hard to install a catted x-pipe on a 99-04 mustang gt?? I am looking at purchasing a magnaflow catted x-pipe and just want to no what all is involved in insalling it .Like ,can it be done at a garage ,or is it almost as hard as headers to install.....I have a bit of expierince with exhaust ,do you think i coudl do it myself with the car on jack stands?? By the way ,its being bolted up to the stock manifolds!

Shoulda take you ~1-2 hours depending on ur experience doing it and how snagged you get on the passenger side bolts. I don't have first hand experience, but supposidly it's a ******!

No rust = easy job.

Rust = break out the PB blaster and some muscle.

Its not hard, I did mine on jack stands and a floor jack. First "real" exhaust work I had done aside from cutting and clamping.

Plan on a few hours and busted knuckles, but its worth doing it yourself. Make sure you have something that will remove the o2 censors also.

First time took me and my bro about 40 mins to take out. The passanger side bolts to the manifold can be a bitch, just get a good extension of a 3/8" drive and spray the bolts w/ some anti-rust stuff before you do it and let it sit. Easier to do when cold. Now for me it's a 15 min job. With car lift tho

spray the bolts a few days ahead of time and spray them everyday until you start the job.

use a medium (not too deep, but not a standard size) 15mm socket, a couple wobble head extensions, and youll be fine. i had to get a set of nut extractors because my nut for the life of it would not accept a 15mm and a 16mm was too big.

I installed my catless prochamber and Bassani catback a couple of days ago using 4 jack stands and a nice hydraulic jack. The passenger side nuts are hard to get a socket onto. Soak them with some type of rust remover(PB blaster) and they will eventually come off. I ended up using an impact gun to break them loose. It was alot easier to reinstall the new midpipe than it was to remove the stock one. Just take your time and make sure you get everything tightened back up. It took me just under 4 hours to do the whole setup with a little help from a friend and a lot of help from a guy named Budweiser!!!

that dude is awesome.

i have found everything that requires any manual labor or car work goes smoother when beer is handy. doesnt even have to be good beer, you could throw back some pabst or whatnot and it still turns out good.

Its a piece of cake! .....until you get to the front passengers side bolts. I had to cut a 15mm socket to get those off and then it slipped and hit me in the face. And i had a little trouble with the 02 sensor harnesses, but thats what I get for going catless.

Jack it up high and put the jackstands on the front subframe to give you room.
