CDC Glassback Roof

If you can wait until the 2009 models are out you can get it as a factory option at a lower price. I've seen the 09 prototypes and it is a much cleaner look than the CDC one. It also comes with a sliding sun shade and less outside mouldings because the factory install doesn't have to hide what the aftermarket one does.

That kinda sucks for us 05-08 owners though.

I love the idea but I'd want to know the weight of it in an age when BMW and Mitsubishi fit carbon fibre roofs to lower the C of G. In other words, adding weight high up could theoretically make it handle like an mini-van or at best reduce it's outright ability.

It adds 14lbs but stiffens the chassis. I have customers who race regularly with the roof.

Also on the heat issues, Of course its going to get hot sitting in a parking lot. Find me a car that doesn't. The average temp was raised roughly 2 degrees with a glassback roof. Its cools when you drive. The tint in the glass has the same cooling technology as a glass building. When air moves around it, it cools. When you're driving directly under the sun, the heat isnt a factor.
