I've heard people talk about some really cool tires. Ones that I have contemplated for my car the most are ones that have normal traction on the outer part of the tire that touches the ground and on the inside 3 or 4 inches it has a slick spot. Like this per se:

Does anyone know what these are called and if so how much they run or where i can get them?

BF Goodrich Drag radials have that type pattern I am pretty sure.

those would be just about any typical drag radial.

yea, i think you're talking about the BFG comp t/a drag radials. Prices vary. But 255/50/16 go for about $160 a piece from Summit Racing
