Cervinis prices?? WTF????

Ok i know Cervinis makes some of the nicest parts in the body business, so i don't want to discredit them at all....they're top notch for sure.

But how the hell do they justify $520 for their Heat Extractor ('03 Cobra style) hood????

IT'S A FLIPPIN FIBERGLASS HOOD PEOPLE!

You can say if you want the best then...blah blah...but Harwood, along with a few others make equally nice hoods and don't charge $520 for a damn hood. If i were in the market to buy one i would probably steer clear of them just out of spite because i just think that's crazy. Then the near $500 for the Stalker nose....again, that's a really awesome piece but damn....you can spend $2k on body parts and still need to get them painted!

Also, while they are among the best, they're not perfect either. My buddy has a Stalker nose and it doesn't line up with the fenders for $hit.

Anyone else ever think this or am i just crazy?

I’ll be honest I have never looked at their stuff. I will need a new hood soon so I may check them out. That does seem high to me.

I don't think there is a hood on the market that's worth $400. That's the absolute highest that i'd even consider to pay, and then it's going to really need to impress me. It's not that i'm cheap, it's that i'm just not into throwing around my money on something that can't justify the cost.

To me, the only thing they sell that is truely worth considering the price is their Stalker nose, since you really can't get it anywhere else unless you want a cheap fiberglass knock off. Everyone makes cowls and everyone makes Mach 1 hoods and R hoods and all that crap. They probably have the nicest Cobra clone kit out too, but that's crazy expensive too.

i would probly rather a little lesser quality for the extra 200 or so dollars you would save...im in the market for a hood now actually

ALMOST STOCK had alot of problems with his Stalker too...which is a $600 piece...

$400 for a simple cowl is steep too

I guess one way to look at it is you can spend the extra $ to get something that will fit damn well without altering it, or get a cheaper one then spend another couple hundred while the body guy works on it to make it fit properly.

Still, $520 is way too much.

See, i'll agree to that to a certain extent but it's not like spending ~$300 or so on a Harwood hood is going to get you a piece of crap that needs major body work to fit right....in fact every Harwood that i've had experience with was a prime it/paint it/install it ordeal....no extra body work needed. It's not that i'm biased to Harwood or anything, they're just an example.

Are there any other companies offering the 03 heat extractor style? If not, there's your answer! I haven't seen any, FWIW. Whomever may offer it sure isn't advertising as well as Cervini's, and therefore if no one hears about them, they won't get much business.

I've had good experience with them but I only bought from them what I couldn't get elsewhere (Stalker front) and what I got from a friend who bought it and never put it on the car (Cobra rear).

Yeah you might be right there. Like i said i'm sure they're a great company to deal with and their stuff is awesome quality more often than not, but the price i think is just a bit inflated. It's almost like they're selling their name and not the product.

I agree with you 100% (yet I still by from them....go figure)
The main thing that gets me mad is their packaging is terrible!

My Stormin Normin hood fit great. (and has a finished underside)
My Saleen Wing needed some persuasion to fit.
The Stalker nose on the passenger side isn't sitting flush with the fender and I have to elongate the holes for the headlights to get them to mount and align right...

I know every manufacturer will have their issues, but for their prices they should be a bit better if you ask me....

Almost Stock has helped me alot with my Stalker questions and he too has had issues with his piece.

I thought my hood was ok, just glad I didn't buy it new. All their stuff is expensive as hell.

Thats why I went with Champion Fiberglass. Nice hood with a finished underliner and paid just over 300.00 shipped.

I hope to pick up a 93 Cobra rear bumper this year at their stand at Carlisle. It was $230 last year, hopefully it didn't go up. I think that's fair for that particular bumper. Cervini's does sell their name and they claim to sell quality and "OEM fit" products. That's where the high prices come from.

i was looking at getting a hood from them also but when i saw there prices i went over to boss inc and picked up one of there hoods for half the price and the fitment is great and looks alittle diff that the normal ram air hood

I paid $325 for my Cervinis 2 1/2" inducted cowl when I bought it (some time ago). It's good to know that you all are paying $200 more for the exact same thing now-a-days. lol

Oh... I got my FMS drive shaft when they were still cheap too.

Just thought I'd help the thread along by rubbing it in a little.

It's a simple matter of "is it worth it to you?" I wanted the Heat Extractor hood. I wanted the best quality product I could buy. I'm quite a bit older than most of you, more established, so price doesn't mean that much to me. Cervini's has by far the best reputation of all the fiberglass companies out there, so I didn't hesitate to order from them. The shop that painted and installed it for me does a lot of body kits and fiberglass work. They said that the Cervini's piece was, by far, the best piece of 'glass they'd ever worked with.

Yes, they're more expensive than the other guys. But, like so many things in life, you get what you pay for.

BTW, I bought mine when they were $495.

their quality is the best, and there prices went up b/c, well what i heard was that they messed up a bunch of their moulds for hoods so a ton of them got messed up, they sat crooked, and right after that happend their hoods went up 100 dollars

Yeah i paid $160 for my FMS aluminum shaft, then about 6 months later they almost doubled in price.
