i bought my Stalker from abc exclusive, decent peice, no headlight panel, and i need to build up some of the eurothane on the driver's side, but i expected it for $ 329
Cervinis prices?? WTF????

Well mine was a gift but the fit was dead on just bolt on and primer and paint
is that hood from cervinis.. and what size of cowl is that... i think that looks really bad ass
I have purchased hoods from both Cincinati Composites, and ABC exclusive and both were not good. They required alot of work to make the body lines even, and wasn't finished nicely on the inside like Cervinis. I have never bought a Cervinis but many of my friends have, and they all fit great. The Cervinis Stalker front end needed alot of work to fit correctly, but I have never heard of any problems with the hoods. The price is expensive, however to have a body shop do the necessary work to fit a cheaper hood, would most likely put you at a grand total higher than just buying the better hood in the first place.

maybe the price of fiberglass went up? haha I got my FMS D/S for a 100 beans with 2k miles on it. I'm still stuck with the stock hood though. theres no way im payin $400+ for a hood. I'll go to swap meets, ebay, craigslist or just shop around and find a good used one.
Cincy Composites is a joke, they're one of the biggest car-jokes around Cincinnati i think. Around here if you go to a car show and see a crappy hood, there's a 99% chance it's a CC hood. I had one of their 4 inch hoods on my car when i got it and it took me about 3 days to realize what a total piece of crap it was, so i got ahold of the guy i got the car from and got the stock hood back.
A funny story about that hood....it never lined up on my car for crap, BUT a buddy of mine had another coupe like mine and wanted the hood so we put it on. His car had been wrecked in the front somewhere in it's life and the nose never lined up right....well the hood magically lined up on the crooked and wrecked car...LOL

When I told the body shop I was going to order a fiberglass hood instead of a stock one (after my hood flew up on me while driving) they said fiberglass hoods don't fit right and suggested I stay with a stock hood, but when I just picked the car up yesterday they exclaimed how wonderful my Cervini's 2000 R style hood fit and how great the quality is. They said other than the different prep method for 'glass hoods (bake it first then hand sand it and urethane primer) it didn't require any extra work.
They also mentioned how a lot of people come in with body kits and stuff to get painted and nothing ever fit as perfectly as my hood. Hopefully I'll get some pics of it up later today.
edit: BTW, I paid 460 for the hood from CJ Pony Parts which is about 80 airline miles away from me , truck freight was 135 bucks!! But my insurance check did include $300 for a stock hood so I guess you can say I got a considerable discount.

Just for the record, since it seems like people are disputing the quality of their stuff, i never said it wasn't A+ products....it's probably the best out there but i still don't see justification for a $519.00 hood....their stuff wasn't that expensive 2 years ago....even the exact same hoods they sell today have gone up over $100 bucks.
I've owned Cervini's and ABC.. The Fit and Finish on a Cervini's is the best I have ever seen on an aftermarket hood.. ABC was ok, but kind of wavy and required some definate fitting....

you can always get the pin on hood from cervinis, they are half the price. I think that would take away from the elegance of the heat extractor though.

I was at a all Ford event back in 89 when I bought my Cobra and saw the Cervini products and they were nice. Ended up buying a Ram Air style hood like Cervini's from another vender though. I was won over by the other hood for a couple different reasons. It was thicker, I wasnt looking to save weight on my streeter and thicker means more durable. Part of the reason this hood is thicker is that it has a full metal frame laminated into the fiberglass. Hood was made by a company called Sanja Enterprises if I remember correctly located in KY. I am in the middle of installing the Cervini Ram Air Plennum to this hood. I am having to modify a little to account for some differences in the hoods but it will work.
My ram air hood was free LOL. Lucky me it came on the car. As much as i love the quality of cervini's, while looking for a cobra rear i decided to get it from Design Concepts. I have heard rumors of them being the same stuff as Cervinis just sold under another name for less$$. Well after i received my rear bumper i was amazed in the quality and Fit . I did absolutely nothing to it and it fit perfect. I am ordering my saleen side skirts from them next week as well

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner!!!! If people wouldn't pay 500 bucks for the hood, they wouldn't sell it for 500 bucks......... So what you are saying is folks at cervinis don't deserve raises? The cost of everything is going up. It is natural. But RsStang got it right. If people don't buy the hoods then the price will come down.

Just an FYI: I bought a Cervini's Cobra bumper a few years back. The piece was a bit on the flimsy side, the body shop had a heck of a time installing it, and it cracked in some of the corners pretty good. I blamed it on the body shop. I'm putting together another Mustang and ordered the Stalker front and a new Cobra rear, and this new rear is superior to the old one I received. I don't know what the difference in materials is, but the new piece is much stouter than the old one and just appears to be superior. I don't know if there was a change in materials or manufacturing process, or maybe the old one was a total fluke. This new rear bumper is completely different. Perhaps a change in materials or the process in which they make their products has resulted in the price increases. We'll see how everything fits, it's all in the shop right now.
did the paint crack, or the bumper itself.. If the paint cracked, they didn't add enough flex agent...Definately the bodyshop's fault..

The actual bumper cracked. But, like I said, this new bumper is a totally different piece than the first, so I don't think we'll have a repeat occurrence.
