Check this out. It is kind of pricey, if you can find the pricing it is around $230 for just the base! Heck a brand new office chair is less than $100 from Staples. I would buy one of those and fab up something myself. Matter of fact, I think that I will do just that, with one of my old porno red seats!

Well, I finally got time to dig out one of my old seats and try this office chair project. Took about 30 minutes, a piece of plywood and some bolts. The chair is a little top heavy and hard to move around, but very comfy. If I could find a bigger wheel base it would be better. It is very comfy, compared to the cheap seat that was on this chasis. I wonder what my work would say if I asked to bring in my "new" chair?

...but only when used as office chairs. (They're too bouncy, IMHO. Feels like you're riding in a truck.)

That's a pretty cozy lookin' office chair. Just be careful not to recline that thing too far...

I would put some wheelie bars on that thing so you could recline without tipping over. remember the episode of the simpsons where homer invents stuff, and he makes the chair with a anti tip emchanism, then goes to the muesem and see's that i think it was einstein or ben franklin had already done the same thing, and nobody knew . lol. kinda like that
