Change the timing cover?

I think your a little confused.

what is it your trying to accomplish? making it run cooler?

On ALL 5.0 L, you have to match the timing cover to the type of water pump you are using. Standard rotation is a bad term to use, because it's standard for what? On the late model 5.0L, standard rotation is actually reverse rotation (counter clockwise or stock rotation), if you are planning on removing the A/C and P/S, you have to go with a forward (clockwise) rotation water pump and matching timing cover. If you change one you have to match up the other to match otherwise your car will overheat. I was looking for part numbers, but cannot find them right now. I'll see if I can find the p/n tomorrow and post it.

so in answer to your question, you could go to autozone website part look-up, if you look up water pumps it will tell you if its clock-wise or c.c.w rotation. then find a sbf w/ c.w. rotation, buy it and the timming cover for it.
