I've been wanting to start my progress thread for awhile but all I've been doing is little ticky tack things here and there. Now that I'm diving into it a little more I'm finally going to start this thread

Here's my 93 LX 5.0 right before I bought it in 8/2010:

That interior looks GORGEOUS! Looks great for a starter project. The only thing I'd say to ditch is that sn95 intake plaque thats plaguing the rear hatch We all know its a 5.0!

Good Find.

^Nice find! Looks clean!

FYI...that plaque has been loooooooooooooooooooooong gone. I wouldn't keep that junk on my ride. It was used to cover up a little dent on the hatch. So now I show off my dent which is 100x's better than that plaque.

Here's a pic of some of my parts I've been collecting since Sept '09 when I got back into the mustangs again.

Some of the small ticky tack things I did once I got the car:

86 Tail lights

Ashtray fixed

New door handle bezels

Removed big ugly plaque from the hatch

Removed tape from front bumper

I know this isn't real fun fun stuff but I like to keep track of what I'm doing

Nice! To me, it's the "ticky tack" things that make a car cool. I'm more excited to see something like different tail lights on a car than I am a blower. I'm all about making my cars unique.

Wow, the interior looks really damn good. How did you fix the ashtray door? I need to do that on mine.

Good progress man, those seats look great. And comfy too. Did you do the rear too? I'd love to put sn95 grey leather in mine but I'd want the back to match also.

Thanks! Yeah, definitely not into the real "go go fast parts". Just working on making it "my own" for now.

Thanks! Ash tray kit from CJ Pony. Simple fix but you gotta do a little minor drilling haha. It makes it look a whole lot better.

Yeah, definitely more comfortable than the originals although I did bag up the black tweeds and threw them in the closet. I haven't done the rears yet as soon as I get my lazy butt to pull them out. I'm in the middle of a 5 lug conversion right now.

January 2011

New battery in the middle of the winter of 2011. Went to go start up the car in storage and it wouldn't start. I did look into the Optima batteries BUT their official website didn't even list a MUSTANG under their "Vehicle Selection" for 1993 Ford's. Bah! Since it gave me the runaround I made my way over to Sears and bought this:

I know it's not as pretty as an Optima red top battery, but it works great even in the middle of cold Chicago winters.

Spring of 2011...more small stuff...

After sitting in winter storage for 4 months my car looked like this:

I also noticed that every time I'd wash my car the area under the gas cap would fill up with water.

Sure enough I found a drain plug that was clogged. Quick easy fix!

Radiator brackets sanded and repainted.

Spring of 2011 cont.

New belt...

Shorty antennae... I can't believe they made the OEM ones so long!

My new stereo for only $20 bucks! Works perfect and the green lights match the rest of my center console lights.

And yes, I know...I have to do something about the empty cubby hole :Zip2:

Awesome project! I like the pace you're taking here. You don't seem to be in a hurry, and that lends to better work.

Thanks! Yeah, I like to take my time on stuff b/c I want it done right. Another reason I have to take my time is b/c I don't have a garage. My car is stored inside but it's a community garage where you can't work on it. So any project I start usually has to be done in one day.

Thanks for the compliment! It's mostly clean b/c it's black haha! I absolutely love the black interior. My past 3 foxes have been grey and I hated it.

Your interior is incredible. The little things sure do help.
