These are the kind of projects I enjoy to follow along with. Looks like you are doing a great job. This gives me motivation to start a progress thread for my ride in the near future.

Oh man, I feel your pain. I rent, so I have to park in the driveway. I can't wait to buy my own first house. Not that I care about the house, I just want a garage!

When my wife and I was house hunting. I wasn't house hunting. I was looking at the land and trying to find a place that was going to have the space I wanted to build a decent sized garage. lol

^that is hilarious! Whenever we see a decent looking house I ALWAYS look at the garage. If I ever see a 1 car or even 2 car garage I tell her "nah, I don't like it."

July 2011 - SFC's!

Finally got something a little "bigger" than the little ticky tack stuff. I had a friend weld in my SFC's over a weekend. He owed me a favor so it was free. Yeah!

These are Maximum Motorsports full length. I recommend them...definitely feel a difference. One thing I would've done differently was paint/undercoat the bottom side of the frame rails that the SFC's cover up. I don't think I can get to it anymore. I might be able to get a thin brush in there or I'll just leave it.

Yeah, I'm kinda kicking myself for not thinking ahead but the good thing is that my undercarriage is pretty clean and I don't drive in snow or rain. Good luck! To be honest if I were to do it again I'd just bring it to a place LOL. It was just a long 2 days on our backs and lots and lots of grinding and welding. I'm just glad it's done

July 17, 2011 - short shifter

Installed a MGW short shifter...

...with the silver racing handle.

B/c of the short silver racing handle is shorter, it smooshes down the leather shift boot a bit. Still works great though. I highly recommend this shifter!

July 18, 2011 - Passenger side view mirror

I've been wanting to fix this for a long, long time but once again it's a little bit of a challenge when I don't have a garage. But I took advantage of this particular HOT summer day in Chicago with absolutely no wind haha.

Here's a shot before:

Sanded it down, primed with plastic primer then more light sanding:

Then hit it with some trim paint (a couple coats):

End result:

I don't know what it is but I love these simple small projects. You start with something all jacked up....but with a little time and effort it looks a whole lot better!

July 29, 2011 - it's in the garage!

Finally on 7/29 I got my car in my friend's garage. We had to delay a little while b/c he had so many things going on. His notch is on the right and the 03 Cobra is his dad's in the way back.

Even though we got it in the garage we didn't do anything LOL. We just went over all my parts and realized that we were missing a few things here and there. Basically laying out "our plan". Here's the basics of what we're doing...

REAR:
-rear 5 lug conversion (95 Cobra rear end w/ 308 gear)
-J&M rear upper and lower control arms
-H&R race springs
-Blue tokico shocks
-FMS aluminum driveshaft

FRONT:
-front 5 lug conversion (95 GT spindles)
-GT40 Tubular intake
-70mm Edelbrock spacer & TB
-E303 cam
-Mallory FPR
-Edelbrock hi-flow waterpump
-BBK CAI
-3G ALT
-Mark 8 electric fan
-QA1 k-member & a-arms
-Granatelli coil over kit
-Blue Tokico struts

Basically all the typical bolt on stuff I'm sure there's more but that's all off the top of my head. I'm trying to get this thread up to par! Almost there!

Yeah, I was happy about not paying but it was a pain to be sitting under a car with limited space. If I were to do it again I'd just pay the $190 and be done with it.

I just did the mirror thing on my wife's car this weekend as well. It's the little things that make the car. She thinks it even runs better when it looks better.

August 5, 2011 - Starting w/ the rear!

Up on jacks ready for action...

It definitely took a lot of banging and yanking but we got the whole rear end out. The lower control arm bolt near the torque box probably took us the most time.

Here's the rear end out. Not bad..still pretty clean for a '93. Sold it to a friend of mine. One word for this thing: HEAVY.

Here's the new rear end out of a 95 Cobra.

The new rear end was pretty clean but I figured I'd do a little sanding and hit it Chassis Saver. Looks a little better to me

August 9, 2011 - rear end cont.

Here's the new rear end ready to get bolted in w/ J&M upper and lower control arms...

And it's in!!!

Also installed Tokico shocks and H&R Race Springs. Not sure how I like how it's sits but for now they will stay. I won't know for sure until I get the fronts done. For now I'm going to hang onto my stock springs.
