clarke welder

Anyone use a Clarke welder 110V? I was thinking about a lincoln or hobart. A Clarke is about $100 cheaper. I plan on using it for my 66, with minimal use. No heavy use, just want something that will work and hold up.

I've been using an older Clarke Turbo Weld 100EN, gas or flux core for my automotive needs. My exhaust for the '66 was welded up with it and it's still holding strong. I have had no problems with it and it will handle most jobs related to the Mustang.

I own several Lincolns and Hobarts and you cant go wrong with these or Miller. The $100.00 you save may be a problem latter when it come time to order parts or get service. Having said that these are items in my equipment rental business and need to be tough as nails with support after the sale.

i have a clark welder that the spool for the wire feed is in the gun & i have 20' of cord, had it for a year and i do a lot of welding, never had one problem...bought it at tractor supply co. and all i had to buy extra was gas regulator and tank.

If it's made by Lincoln and has the same specs I'd buy the Clarke and save some money. I've had a Lincoln for over 10 years and am very satisfied with it.

I've been told this as well. I have a 220v Clarke, I've had no problems with it. I just don't reccomend using flux core wire...i converted mine to gas.

ditto on the flux core... you will get a ton of splatter that will have to be addressed before you can finish off your welds.
